As visitors to Topkapi Palace approach the Bab-i Humayun, the great gateway leading into the outer courtyard of the Palace, their attention will inevitably by two things:
The first thing to attract their attention will be the monumental fountain on their right. This magnificent monument, with its wide eaves, the large central dome with the four secondary domes surrounding it, and the lovely tile adorning all four walls...
The second thing to attract the visitor's attention will be the old street to the left of the Palace entrance, which winds its way past the monumental Baroque gate and the massive buttresses of Ayasofya.
Within this magical atmosphere a break must be given at our Topkapi Entrance Garden, viewing the new faces entering the Topkapi Palace in front of an old scene of Sultanahmet while tasting the special Turkish Baklava with a cup of Turkish Coffee (orta please!).
